I created this program because I love the way I feel when I am eating Healthy and Mindfully and want to help others feel great too. My first experience with this was when I was in High School (35 years ago). I was making “Cs”, “Ds”, and, yes, “F”s even with a high IQ. I felt dizzy all the time. We learned I had Low Blood Sugar. I researched and changed the way I ate and started making “A”s. Flash forward, I graduate from Harvard with a Masters Degree. My field of study was World Religions and Literature. All along, I was studying how Food makes people feel and act. In fact, my first public speech was on “Food for Thought” back in 1989. After detoxing excess sugar for over a decade and researching andn using food as medicine, I did my first official Detox/Elimination in 2000 and couldn’t believe how great it made me feel. My belly felt less bloated, I was “regular,” my brain fog cleared, my aches and pains went away. At that same time I became a Yoga and Pilates instructor. It wasn’t long after that I discovered Coaching and later became a Health and Wellness Coach with additional training in the 3 Wisdom Traditions Coaching which combines Ayurveda (Yoga Lifestyle Science), Yoga, and Psychology.
The Spring Detox Program is about discovering what works for YOU and YOUR unique body. It took me some time and support to figure out what worked for me, not just in what the Detox offered but also in how it was offered -- how many days(90 is kind of long to start), how much support (it helps so much), whether or not the program offered a transition phase out of the detox or emergency plans (please) ...

All of this is possible WITHOUT dieting and deprivation. In fact, I often find the meals very large and filling.
So, what’s the magic behind the scenes?
Well, for starters, we’re working with an elimination diet designed in conjunction with our detox expert. But don’t let the word “diet” throw you off! It is not a "diet" as in weight loss program with depriving meals. It is a healthy eating program. The elimination diet/program is about removing potential trigger foods so you can see which foods your body reacts to and which don’t cause any reaction at all when you add them back in during the transition phase.
I first learned about these when a family member did one and she looked amazing. She lost some extra weight she wanted too but the most incredible thing was how much her skin glowed and how much energy she had. That’s what inspired me to try my first elimination program. And, I was so curious to find out what my trigger foods were. However, even after 90 days of feeling great, I lost it. We had a family death and I feel right off my plan. Everything I eliminated went right back in at the funeral reception and I didn’t have the strength to start over. That was because I didn have an emergency plan or any support or accountability. It took a few years and feeling awful with aches and pains, brain fog, incredible fatigue, and all kinds of stomach problems to try again and ultimately feel so much better.
So I developed a plan with other coaches in my network that includes transitions, emergency plans, and a transition phase. This is just natural for me now, for the past 6 years, keeping out the things that make me feel awful and doing a re-boot every Spring.
