Finding your Truth and Expressing it.  Vishuddha means Pure The color is Blue The Mantra is Ham/Hum Throat Chakra.  Vishuddha is the Sanskrit name of the Chakra ( energy wheel) located in the throat area. The Sanskrit word means “pure” It is associated with truth. Blue is the color of sky, the heavens. It represents speaking the truth. It is positioned between the heart and the head. The saying “speaking the truth in love” comes to my mind with this chakra.  The 16 petals (often these petals have Sanskrit words on them) represent the 16 Abilities (Kalas) like compassion, patience, justice, truth, singing, dancing, honesty, artfulness, self control, and more.  The upside down triangle can represent an upward opening of energy. The circle in the middle can respect the full moon which is a sign of wisdom.  This Chakra’s element is Ether. Ether is space it helps carry sound. The throat chakra is an area of sound and expression. It is within and outside of us. In the next week we will cover poses designed to help us balance this area within our self. The Hand Mudra fingers interlaced, thumbs touching making a circle held at the stomach.
